Double Neck Guitar/Mandola 20/8

Constructed from Ash & Mahogany multi-laminate thru-necks with English Ash body wings with rosewood fingerboards & featuring a traditional 24.75" scale length guitar with a 20" scale mandola 8 mounted above.
A 2 way switch selects mandola/both/guitar and controls are 2 volumes with a master tone. Both volumes have a pull/push to split the coils on the humbucking pickups.
 
The custom order model pictured features an additional Bigsby on the guitar and a translucent black burst open grain satin nitro finish

I’ve only had a bit of playtime with her so far, but I’m super impressed…firstly with your great build work and interpretation of the idea. It’s much less bulky than people might suspect for a double neck, and only weighs 4.88kg on my scales. Meaning it’s lighter than some Les Paul’s, and certainly not a heavy instrument. It’s super comfortable and smooth, being a combination of your great carving and great finish work.Those necks are lovely to play. The mandola is exactly bob-on and better than the others I have…nice size in the hand and super quick to get round. Plus the scale length mates well switching from that to the guitar. The six string neck is silky and fast too, and I’m instantly at home. Tone’s great plugged in on both. The mando is rich and plummy and harmonious. Both clean and with some gain. The guitar is full and well defined, with loads of poke and subtlety in equal measure. And that’s what makes it all the more perfect…it’s not a gimmick or a compromise, and each instrument is fantastic in its own right. Couldn’t be happier 😉👍"
